Chef/Commis Chef

Job Purpose

To support the Head Chef in food preparation and service, maintenance of Health & Safety Regulations, team work in a Kitchen environment.

-    You understand the requirements of working in a late night venue. The hours that you will be required to work - Weekends, late nights, Bank & Seasonal Holidays.

About the position

  • Ensuring that the companies Health & Safety Policies are adhered to and that other persons working in your area conform to these standards.
  • To report any accidents or near misses, defects or damage to equipment or premises immediately.
  • To have a complete knowledge of all items on the menu and are clear on the specification for production and presentation of the dishes.
  • To be fully aware of the current dishes on the specials menu and clear knowledge of production and presentation of all dishes.
  • To work quickly, efficiently and safely in the production of dishes order buy waiting staff.
  • To inform waiting staff of meals awaiting delivery from lights to the relevant tables.
  • To work as a member of the team in your work area providing help and assistance as required. To communicate at all times with members of your team and the Head Chef.
  • To keep work stations and all other areas of the Kitchen clean and tidy
  • To ensure that all food items are correctly and safely stored
  • To ensure that all stocks are kept securely and can be accounted for.
  • To refer any customer complaints to management without delay.
  • To maintain the highest standards od cleanliness and personal hygiene at all times.


In addition to the above listed duties and responsibilities the chef/commis chef is required to carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required or requested by Management
